For me Portage Holiness Youth Camp has made a big impact on my life. Last year was my second year there, and I feel like it gets better every year. It’s amazing how a camp in a small town, in what seems to be the “middle of nowhere,” could have had such a big impact on my life. In the past, I’ve met amazing people there and have built great friendships that carry on even outside of camp. Every person I have met there has been friendly and genuine. I have met many people who were so strong in their faith, that it really amazed and inspired me. After spending ten days side by side with the other teens, I didn’t only learn about them; I learned more about who I am and who God is. Portage Holiness Camp has really brought me closer to God. Even now, during the school year, I still talk about camp to some of my friends. Just thinking about it makes me smile; it’s always been such a great experience for me. I hope that in the future, camp will continue, and I will meet many more people like the ones I have already met.
I really think other teens should come to camp; it’s an amazing place that really changes lives. If there is any teen who is still searching, Portage might just be the place they find some answers.
