PORTAGE CAMP NEWS
July 11, 2020
Portage Camp will be an eight day meeting this year. The dates are August 9 - 16. Sunday services will begin at 10 am & 6 pm. Monday through Thursday and Saturday, services will begin at 7 pm. Friday service will start at 6:30 pm.
Due to the restrictions put in place by the State of Ohio for residential camps, we regrettably will not be hosting a Youth Camp program this year. Teens are certainly still welcome to come to camp but must be with their parent or responsible adult guardian. The youth dorms will be closed.
The dining hall will be open for lunch and supper with a limited carry out menu. Menu will be similar to the snack shack. The snack shack will not be open.
There will be a twice a day program for the children. There will be work/improvement projects for the teens and adults to help with during the day.
If you come to camp please be prepared to follow the directives from the State of Ohio and Wood County concerning the Coronavirus. Currently, Wood County is a Level Red county which means face masks are required anywhere that is not residence. You are encouraged to bring your own face covering or if you forget, we will have them available for you to wear. We will have hand sanitizer stations and will be following the cleaning/sanitizing schedule set forth in the Campground directives from the state.
More instruction may be provided as situations arise.

As we get closer to our scheduled camp meeting dates we are aware of the restrictions that the State of Ohio has for resident camp programs. Camp Board members met on Saturday, June 13 and set a date of July 11 for an announcement to be made about what Portage Holiness Campmeeting will look like for 2020. The good news is that we are going to have something here for 2020. We are looking at a change in format if the state's restrictions remain unchanged. You can check back here or on the camp's Facebook page for the announcement. A newsletter will also be mailed in July to those on the regular mailing list. The Dino Kartsonakis concert scheduled for August 5, 2020, will not take place. Plans are being worked on to have Dino here for the 2021 camp.
Portage Holiness Camp is a non-denominational camp meeting founded in 1878. We have "Camp Meeting" over a ten day period each August. The 2019 Camp Meeting dates are August 1 - 11, with a pre-camp concert scheduled for 7 pm on Wednesday, July 31.
